Business Privilege License
Due to changes made July 1, 2015 by the NC State Legislature, only businesses that sell Beer and/or Wine are required to renew or apply for a City of High Point Privilege License.
All other businesses will no longer be required to obtain a City Privilege License.
Before starting any business activity that requires a Privilege license (Beer and/or wine), you must pay the appropriate fee(s).
The rate of the Beer and/or Wine license tax shall be for the first license issued to one person/business; for each additional license issued to one person/business an additional tax of 10% of the base tax shall be levied.

Privilege licenses for beer and/or wine sales are issued for the period of May 1 through April 30 and must be renewed no later than May 1 of each year.
There shall be no proration of beer and wine license fee(s).
Any business selling Beer and/or Wine within the city limits without a Privilege license is liable for back (unpaid) license fees and is subject to a penalty of 5% of the annual license fee for each month for which the business operated without a license. The minimum penalty is $5.00.
